Mumbai is the largest city in India and the seventh-largest city in the world. Mumbai is a major financial centre, and is also the capital of Maharashtra state.
I visited Mumbai when I went IIT-Mumbai for placement season. I thought why not to take this opportunity and roam around in the city of dreams. The 2 biggest thing I noticed in Mumbai was: 1. The people were more responsible towards being a better citizen, they truly believed in “Aamchi Mumbai”. 2. The night life was amazing and people specially girls felt safer in the city during night.
Places to visit in Mumbai
- Gateway of India: This iconic arch monument is a must-see for any visitor to Mumbai. Built in the early 20th century, it served as a symbolic welcome point for British officials entering India. Enjoy the bustling harbor, take a ferry to Elephanta Caves, or simply admire the historical landmark.
- Marine Drive: Nicknamed the “Queen’s Necklace,” this scenic promenade stretches along the coastline. Take a leisurely stroll or enjoy a scenic car ride, marveling at the Arabian Sea and the city skyline bathed in golden hues, especially during sunset.
- Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST): This UNESCO World Heritage Site is more than just a train station. It’s a architectural marvel showcasing Victorian Gothic Revival style with intricate carvings and towering domes. Immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of one of the busiest railway stations in India, or simply admire the stunning architecture.
